千と千尋は作品の始まり方が本当に好きです
I really like how Spirited Away begins.
鳥居は人間社会と神の領域の境目、入口です。日本には８万もの神社があります。
コンビニは５万店なので、いたるところに鳥居があるということになります。
Torii gates mark the boundary and entrance between human society and the realm of the gods. There are 80,000 shrines in Japan.
There are 50,000 convenience stores, so that means there are torii gates everywhere.
車のサイドミラーにも絵が描いています。こういう描写は動画を見ているとわからない部分です。色塗りはここまで少し手を抜いているので、時間があれば、手直ししていくかもしれません。
There are also drawings on the car’s side mirrors. These kinds of details are hard to see when watching the video. I’ve been a little sloppy with the coloring so far, so I might tweak it if I have time.
こういうシーンも綺麗に描かれています。風景は風景専門の画家さんが描いているらしいですね。たしか。自然は描くのが難しいです。山やこういう草原は原画の通りには描きません、というより、そんなのは無理だからです。自分の想像で描いて、原画はおおまかに参考程度にします。だからこういう絵はしんどいのです。想像で描くのはしんどいです。どれだけ複雑な建物でも、そのまま描けばいいのですから、その方が楽だったりします。
Scenes like this are also beautifully drawn. Apparently the landscapes were painted by an artist who specializes in landscapes. I’m sure. Nature is difficult to paint. Mountains and grasslands like this are not painted exactly like the originals, or rather, that’s impossible. I draw them from my imagination, and use the originals as a rough reference. That’s why these kinds of paintings are so hard. It’s hard to draw from your imagination. No matter how complex a building is, you just have to draw it as it is, so that’s often easier.
建物が細かく描かれています。私もできるだけ細かく描いていきます。
The buildings are drawn in great detail. I will try to draw them as detailed as possible.

飢えと食う会・・・どっちも？
この大量の料理はこれから団体客が来るための仕込みだろうから、黙って食べたら怒られるぐらいではすまないよね。という風には考えないのでしょうか。
金さえ払えばいいんでしょという、一番人を怒らせる人です。
そんな人いないよ。という風に思いますが、いますからね。ごく稀に。
This huge amount of food is probably being prepared for a group of tourists who are coming soon, so if you eat it quietly, you won’t just get scolded.
包丁刺さってる店で、勝手に料理食べるって、すごい度胸ですね。
私なら、絶対嫌です。事件になりますよ
It takes a lot of guts to eat food from a restaurant with a knife stuck in it.
If it were me, I would never do that. It would be a big incident.
この場面、描くのが大変そうで、やめようかと思いましたが、ここでやめたら千と千尋を描く意味がないと思い描くことにしました。
This scene seemed like it would be difficult to draw, and I thought about giving up, but I thought that if I stopped here, there would be no point in drawing Spirited Away, so I decided to continue.
これもしんどかったです。しんどくない絵はほとんどないのですが

建物は丁寧に描けば失敗はないので、ある意味楽です
If you draw buildings carefully, you won’t make any mistakes, so in a way it’s easy.
この絵は随分前に描いたもので、時間を掛けて丁寧に塗ったのですが、やっぱり時間を掛けただけ、いい絵になっているようには思います。
I drew this picture a long time ago and took my time to paint it carefully, but I think the time I spent on it has made it a better picture.
（絵の解説）空は色鉛筆ではなくパステル（ファーバーカステル）とサクラクーピーペンシルを使ってます。自分のイメージした出来にはなりませんでしたが、これらを使うのは広範囲を塗る時に楽に早くできるからです。ムラにもなりません。
パステルはチョークのような粉の塗料で直接こすり付けて、指の腹で塗ります。その後、専用のスプレーで塗料を沈着させます。クーピーは私は木や山、花に使うことが多く、時々使います。塗りが早く、柔らかな風味の絵になります。
(Explanation of the picture) For the sky, I used pastels (Faber-Castell) and Sakura Copic pencils rather than colored pencils. It didn’t turn out how I imagined, but I use these because they’re easy and quick to paint large areas. They also don’t leave any unevenness.
The pastels are chalk-like powder paints that you rub directly onto the surface and then apply with the pads of your fingers. Then, I deposit the paint with a special spray. I often use Copic pencils for trees, mountains, and flowers, and I use them occasionally. They apply quickly and give the painting a soft feel.
この場面は、両サイドの建物をざっと色鉛筆でぬり、あとはパステルです。
これだけの範囲を色鉛筆ではしんどいです
It’s difficult to cover this much area with colored pencils.
